CommNexus Celebrates the Opening of Start-up Incubator EvoNexus Facility

Guests at the event will include more than 180 business and government leaders from San Diego. The Honorable Jerry Sanders, Mayor of San Diego will be speaking and participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The entire event is sponsored by the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation.

In February of 2009, Vice Admiral Walt Davis and CommNexus CEO, Rory Moore envisioned a technology business incubator that would be different than other incubators and that would allow the entrepreneur to get to the proof of concept stage with no encumbrances. In June of 2009, CommNexus announced that it would assist with the formation of EvoNexus as a non-profit organization for the purpose of incubating start-up companies in the high tech industry in San Diego. Less than six months later, EvoNexus is supporting three start-up companies, Medipacs, IO Semiconductor and Pixon Imaging with fully furnished facilities, utilities, mentoring, education and other services donated by companies and individuals in the San Diego high tech community.
