Zenprise to Extend Mobile Management to New BlackBerry Playbook Tablet; Announces Support for BlackBerry 6.0 OS
(Market Wire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) FREMONT, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/28/10 -- Zenprise, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise mobile management and mobile device management software, today announced its intent to support the BlackBerry® PlayBook? tablet. Additionally, Zenprise announced that its mobile management solution currently supports Research In Motion's (RIM's) BlackBerry® 6.0 operating platform, which debuted on the BlackBerry Torch smartphone last month. With BlackBerry holding its lead as one of the most pervasive and widely-deployed mobile platforms in the enterprise today, Zenprise remains committed to aggressively supporting its myriad smartphones and emerging technologies such as tablet computing devices.
Zenprise will be available to discuss and demonstrate its MobileManager platform at the BlackBerry Developer's Conference, taking place September 27-30 in San Francisco.
Speaking at the BlackBerry Developer's Conference this week, RIM's president and co-CEO Mike Lazaridis described the PlayBook as the "first professional tablet" aimed at enterprises and business users. Zenprise was the first mobile management software provider to announce support for the Apple iPad, underscoring a strong history of innovation in supporting enterprise mobility.
Zenprise enables enterprise IT administrators to remotely monitor, manage and secure BlackBerry devices, ensuring that employees have consistent, reliable and secure access to enterprise data and applications. Zenprise allows users to provision BlackBerry devices; proactively monitor and troubleshoot BlackBerry user and infrastructure problems; manage policies and configurations; and remotely find and secure lost company- and employee-owned BlackBerry devices. Zenprise also supports this same functionality for Apple iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, Windows Phone and HP Palm OS smartphones.
"The Playbook provides users with a powerful, secure and engaging new device that's instrumental in furthering mobility within the enterprise," said Ahmed Datoo, vice president of marketing, Zenprise. "The need for comprehensive mobile management software like Zenprise increases as more employees bring their personal devices into the workforce, including smartphones and devices like the PlayBook. We look forward to strengthening our longstanding partnership with RIM as they continue to innovate new devices and technologies now and into the immediate future." Zenprise's extensive list of more than 300 global customers spans a cross-section of countries and vertical industries including: Comcast, Boeing Corporation, Shook Hardy & Bacon LLP, Varian Medical Systems and Vodafone.
About ZenpriseZenprise's award winning software automates all aspects of mobile management, from monitoring to troubleshooting, from expense management to device management, from security to compliance. Using Zenprise, customers can reduce their mobile TCO costs by over 25 percent, increase customer service levels by over 75 percent and ensure corporate compliance rates of 100 percent. Supported smartphone platforms include BlackBerry®, iPhone, Palm, Windows Mobile and Android devices. Founded in 2003, Zenprise is headquartered in Fremont, California and is privately held with funding from investors Bay Partners, Ignition Partners, Mayfield Fund, Rembrandt Venture Partners, and Shasta Ventures.
