HTC to Launch 1st Window Phone7 Smart Phone in March

Feb 24, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China president of HTC Corporation announced on February 14 that the company would launch the first 4.7-cun (1 cun = 1 /3 decimeter) large-screen Window Phone7 smart phone in China next month.

The president also stated that the company was in active negotiation with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT and SEHK: 4338) on launching Win8 mobile phone in Chinese market as soon as possible.

The president added that Chinese market was very important to HTC. It is expected that the commercial and after-sales service networks set up by HTC in mainland China will double this year, expanding from 2,000 special regions to 4,000 ones. The company will launch cooperation with operators and carry out online sale as well.

The president disclosed that HTC in the next step will independently design a special mobile phone product for Chinese operators so as to meet market demand. It is reported that the company will release the first four-core cell-phone model HTC One X and the next-generation v4.0-edition HTC Sense interface on the 2012 Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona, Spain, from February 27 to March 1.
