BUYINS.NET: Market Maker Surveillance Report. AVID, PNBC, OPHC, NEWL, THTI, CMZPF, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Thursday, April 12th 2012
(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3510 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4389 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1809 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. AVID TECHNOLOGY INC (NASDAQ:AVID), PRINCETON NATIONAL BANCORP (NASDAQ:PNBC), OPTIMUMBANK HOLDINGS INC (NASDAQ:OPHC), NEWLEAD HOLDINGS LTD (NASDAQ:NEWL), THT HEAT TRANSFER TECHNOLOGY (OTC:THTI), COMPTON PETROLEUM CORP (OTC:CMZPF). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit

.
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below: Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction AVID $-1.850 -18.00% 834,370 47.38% 917,111 52.08% -82,741 -447 PNBC $-0.230 -12.37% 34,421 42.49% 46,597 57.51% -12,176 -529 OPHC $-1.180 -34.40% 78,878 38.15% 127,448 61.64% -48,570 -412 NEWL $-0.830 -18.57% 301,292 44.71% 357,305 53.02% -56,013 -675 THTI $-0.230 -11.92% 55,439 28.60% 138,425 71.40% -82,986 -3,608 CMZPF $-0.641 -26.25% 32,900 31.39% 68,100 64.98% -35,200 -549 Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows AVID with a dollar loss Thursday of $-1.85000 and a Friction Factor of -447 shares. That means that it only took 447 more shares of selling than buying to move AVID lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
