Quantenna Communications raises $79 million in funding

Apr 18, 2012 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Quantenna Communications, Inc., a US-based fabless semiconductor company, develops silicon for wireless high definition video home networking, has closed a $79 million venture round of funding led by JSC "RUSNANO".

Bright Capital Partners along with existing investors Sequoia Capital, DAG Ventures, LLC, Grazia Equity GmbH, Sigma Partners, Southern Cross Venture Partners and Venrock also participated in the round.

JSC RUSNANO is a Russia-based company engaged in the development and implementation of projects on nanotechnologies and nanoindustry.

RUSNANO will invest up to $40 million and Sequoia Capital will invest $20 million in Quantenna.

Acquirer (Company) JSC "RUSNANO" Deal Rationale Quantenna intends to use the funding to expand its engineering and service organizations in order to support the list of service providers deploying its 4x4 MIMO 802.11n chipsets. Quantenna will also use the funding to accelerate new product development as it enters new market segments.

The round also enables Quantenna to expand its presence in Russia with the addition of a team of qualified specialists.
