Agile Project Management Training Program from PM College Prepares Project Teams to Manage Rapidly Changing Business Demands
GLEN MILLS, Pa. --(Business Wire)--
Today's sonic pace of business change demands agility. Nowhere is this
more important than in project management where projects are being
continuously started and stopped; interrupted, refined, and restarted.
In fact, an estimated 28% of Project Management Offices (PMOs) today are
implementing agile methods with the use of agile methods tripling since
December 2008. Moreover, the Project Management Institute (PMI®)
recently introduced a new agile accreditation - Agile (News - Alert) Certified
Practitioner (PMI-ACP)SM. Now PM College introduces a
corporate Agile Project Management Training Program to prepare project
teams to effectively integrate agile methods in the workplace as well as
to prepare for PMI's new certification exam.
PM College's Agile PM Training Program curriculum emphasizes an "empower
and inspire" agile leadership approach versus the traditional "command
and control" approach. Specifically, the program includes four dynamic,
customizable courses:
-
Agile Bootcamp - intended for teams at varying stages of agile
methodology adoption who need an immersion session in the full
framework of Scrum practice. All aspects of planning, from vision down
to daily planning, are outlined plus prioritization and estimating
techniques are explored, and then practiced as a team.
-
Implementing Agile in a Waterfall World - a foundation course
for all members of the project development team and their business
partners to discover how to begin a successful transition from
Waterfall to Agile. Each module encompasses key points, followed by
hands-on exercises.
-
Gathering Agile Requirements - a two-day course that delivers
hands-on experience using learned techniques for gathering agile
requirements.
-
Agile Project Management and PMI-ACP Prep - intended for teams
and project managers at varying stages of agile methodology adoption
on how to manage an agile project, this course explores a wide range
of techniques and prepares participants to sit for the PMI-ACP exam.
Well-Trained Agile Project Managers In Demand
Gartner (News - Alert) predicts that by the end of 2012, agile development methods will
be used on 80% of all software development projects - the industry where
agile methodology first took root. Even outside this industry, research
shows an increasing number of companies looking to agile project
management methodology to reign in expenses and improve project outcomes.
"Without discarding the discipline associated with traditional project
management, agile project management methodologies enable project teams
to meet ever-shifting business demands with confidence and success,"
said Deborah Crawford, President of PM College. "Our curriculum allows
teams to train using the actual projects they are currently handling so
no time is wasted in applying agile practices in their real-world
environment."
