Popularity of Unified Communications and Collaboration Solutions in Mexican Enterprises Intensifying, Finds Frost & Sullivan
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, Dec 19, 2012 (PR Newswire Europe via COMTEX) -- - Employee demand for better communication solutions at the workplace drives market BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, Dec. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Large sale volumes of Internet protocol (IP) telephony, IP phone, and videoconferencing solutions will spur the Mexican unified communications and collaboration (UCC) solutions market. Greater awareness about the benefits of UCC among large enterprises, along with vendors' efforts to expand their channel-partner base and improve communication infrastructure will heighten the demand for these solutions in the country.

Reality Check on Key Mexican Unified Communications and Collaboration Solutions Markets, finds that the market earned revenues of over $272.3 million in 2011 and estimates this to reach $478.2 million in 2018.
End-of-life of legacy systems have compelled several companies in Mexico to migrate to IP-based environments. This has improved the prospects of the UCC market, since these applications work best within IP domains.
"Employees demand communication and collaboration tools that are similar to or better than what they are familiar with outside work," said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Francisco Rizzo. "With the proliferation of smartphones and tablets, mobile UC applications that enable enterprises to meet employee needs are fast becoming popular." Cloud-based UCC solutions are gaining acceptance among small and medium businesses (SMBs) that cannot afford the high costs of an on-premises deployment. The prevalence of cloud offerings will not affect on-premises sales significantly, since both models will complement one another and ultimately increase revenue opportunities.
However, the intense competition in the large enterprise space poses a stiff challenge to UC vendors and their channels. In addition, telecommunications infrastructure limitations hinder companies from getting the most out of their investments and dissuade potential buyers.
"To remain competitive, participants must look for new sales opportunities and develop strategies to cater to the needs of the untapped SMB market in particular," noted Rizzo. "It is essential to build UCC systems that also offer cloud-based solutions." Increasing SMBs' awareness about UCC applications and educating channel partners to effectively communicate the benefits of these solutions will lead to revenue opportunities and market expansion.
