Bloomberg BNA Releases New Edition of "Spill Reporting Procedures Guide"
ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Bloomberg BNA has published the 2013 Edition of Spill Reporting Procedures Guide, the essential reference for control and treatment of accidental spills, ensuring full compliance with federal and state requirements.

) Compliance officers have relied on the Spill Reporting Procedures Guide since 1984 for information on how to deal quickly and effectively with accidental releases of chemicals and contaminants into the environment--and how to comply fully with federal and state hazardous waste requirements. The Guide includes verbal and written reporting requirements for oil, hazardous substances, hazardous wastes, hazardous materials, excess air emissions, wastewater incursions, tank leaks, and SARA Title III. In addition, the Guide contains emergency contact information and internet resources, including 24-hour hotline numbers; notification deadlines; jurisdictional maps and directories; sample reporting forms; and the telephone numbers and addresses of spill reporting offices, environmental protection agencies, police departments, state oil and gas commissions, and highway patrols.
The 2013 Edition has been revised to reflect all significant state and federal reporting requirements and guidance on whether compliance officers need to respond via an "800" number, by written report, or online. It also includes: -- Four new forms, including oil removal for Florida and North Carolina -- Twelve updated forms, including revised spill report forms for five states -- Expanded listing of waste constituents under Federal Hazardous Substances -- Expanded Tank Leak reporting requirements in Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, New Mexico, North Dakota, and South Carolina -- Refined and expanded Excess Air Emissions incident reporting in Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia -- New category of reporting for Hazardous Substances incidents in West Virginia -- Continued comprehensive revising and updating of contact and regulatory information--with citations--for all reporting requirements Spill Reporting Procedures Guide, 2013 Edition is edited by Jeffrey J. Kimmel, a Regulatory Analyst and Consultant based in Brookfield, VT, and former Senior Legal Writer with Bloomberg BNA's Environment Reporter. A web version of the guide also is available. This treatise is available for sale directly from Bloomberg BNA and also will be available on the Bloomberg Law legal research system.
