ManageEngine's Password Manager Pro Releases New Session Recording Capabilities

ManageEngine is the enterprise IT management software division of Zoho (News - Alert) Corporation, a provider of network management solutions. It services more than 55,000 established and emerging enterprises – customers with IT infrastructures that are far more dynamic, flexible and elastic than ever before. Real-time IT calls make the most of today’s game-changing technologies and deliver immediate services to organizations that are operating at an ever-increasing pace. ManageEngine products enable IT managers to deliver an optimum end-user experience to achieve business efficiencies in the face of increasing complexity.

Password Manager Pro by ManageEngine (News - Alert) is a secure vault for storing and managing shared sensitive information such as passwords, documents and digital identities of enterprises. The latest session recording capabilities in Password Manager Pro have recently been released and are available immediately. Privileged sessions launched from Password Manager Pro can be video recorded, archived and played back to support forensic audits and let enterprises monitor all actions performed by privileged accounts during privileged sessions.

More than 30,000 administrators and 100,000 users log into Password Manager Pro on a typical day and manage millions of privileged passwords. The application provides a secure system to store, administer and share passwords, offering a centralized password vault, shared administrative password management, application-to-application password management, active directory, role-based access control, automated password resets, real-time notifications on password events, two-factor authentication and much more.

Threats to information security arise from outside as well as inside the corporate firewall, presenting IT administrators with the formidable task of managing an enormous number of accounts and sessions. Session recording capabilities in password management software provide flexibility, visibility and control to administrators by capturing entire privileged sessions of sensitive resources on video. The recordings are then stored in a tamper-proof archive and can be retrieved anytime for forensic audits.

"The business needs of enterprises are in a constant state of flux," said Rajesh Ganesan, director of Product Management at ManageEngine, in a statement. "For a variety of reasons, employees, technicians, partners, contractors and other users require secure access to critical IT resources. But privileged accounts offer virtually unlimited access privileges, and with cyber-threats looming large, it is absolutely essential to track what users are doing with their privileged access."

Session recording caters to the audit and compliance requirements of organizations that mandate proactive monitoring of activities. Administrators can readily answer questions regarding the 'who,' 'what' and 'when' of privileged access. In addition, session recording makes Password Manager Pro a complete solution for the entire lifecycle of privileged password management. It helps organizations secure, control, manage, monitor, audit and review privileged access to diverse IT resources, including servers, databases, network devices and applications - all from a single, centralized Web interface.

The robust solution employs first-in-class, remote login mechanisms to deliver on both ease of use and security. From any HTML5-compatible browser, users can launch highly secure, reliable and completely emulated Windows RDP, SSH and Telnet sessions with a single click, without the need for additional plug-in or agent software. The new session recording capability is an extension of the remote login mechanism in which the remote connections are tunneled through the Password Manager Pro server, requiring no direct connectivity between the user device and remote host.

Password Manager Pro (6.6) is available immediately. In addition to a fully functional, free 30-day evaluation edition, Password Manager Pro is available in a Free Edition, Standard Edition and Premium Edition. The Standard Edition prices start at $495 per year for two administrators, while the Premium Edition prices start at $1,195 per year for five administrators.
