It was a busy week in the Network Management sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.
Virtual Instruments has certified the Pretium EDGE Tap Module from Corning (News - Alert) Cable Systems with VirtualWisdom solution devices. Virtual Instruments verified that the Tap Module monitor output operated with both the SAN Performance Probe and SAN Insight Rover.
Also, Paessler recently announced the introduction of the first 64-bit version of the PRTG Network Monitor, developed to address high-performance monitoring requirements of network environments.
TMCnet also reported that Riverbed Technology announced an upgraded network performance management (NPM) solution called Cascade 10.0, which meets the needs of three key areas of virtualization. Cascade 10.0 provides performance management for virtualized desktop infrastructure (VDI), server virtualization and virtualized data centers via VXLAN software-defined networks (SDNs). Also, Cascade can be purchased as a single unit and used by service providers across public, private and hybrid clouds.
In another story, TMCnet reported, that the Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) market will exceed $2 billion in 2016, according to a new study from Strategy Analytics. The DPI market has new players like Neuralitic Systems. The company was recently awarded a patent for “context aware” DPI. Another new player is Qosmos (News - Alert), which “provides DPI solutions for integration into numerous network elements by large equipment vendors,” according to a Strategy Analytics statement. In addition, standalone DPI solutions vendors Allot (News - Alert) Communications, Sandvine and Procera Networks are the main players in that sector.
TMCnet reported in another article that Endace, a provider of intelligent network recording and network visibility infrastructure, has launched a new 100G-capable network visibility headend, EndaceAccess 100. It is a 100G and 40G-capable headend system that lets organizations get adequate network access to monitor, analyze, protect and troubleshoot 100G network segments.
