TMCnet Network Management Week in Review

It was a busy week in the Network Management sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.

Hewlett-Packard recently introduced a handful of new products and services designed to help small- and midsize-businesses (SMBs) simplify their IT infrastructures and accelerate business by way of mobile devices. HP has expanded its HP Converged Infrastructure portfolio with new storage and network solutions that improve employee productivity via secure access from mobile devices to business applications and data. Furthermore, the company is offering financing and training programs to address the end-to-end mobility challenges faced by SMBs by helping them acquire the resources necessary to boost business responsiveness.

In another story, TMCnet’s Rachel Ramsey reports that analyzing event logs and syslogs without automated log analyzer tools can be both time-consuming and painful if done manually. Given this fact, ManageEngine has announced the availability of its Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) software for SMBs and enterprises: EventLog Analyzer. The latest version of EventLog Analyzer enters the SIEM arena with the addition of IT data indexing, universal log parsing and universal log search capabilities, as well as a streamlined user interface.

Also, TMCnet writer Tabitha Naylor reported that the AN3000 solution is now available from Affirmed Networks. Operators can simplify their network deployments with the new solution.

In addition, Infinera announced that TeliaSonera (News - Alert) International Carrier (TSIC) has selected the DTN-X with Infinera Instant Bandwidth to provide 100 Gigabits per second (100G) of optical transport capacity through software control across its North American network. With the help of the DTN-X platform, TSIC can lower its operational expenses.

And CableOrganizer.com has deployed comprehensive disaster prevention, as well as a disaster recovery plan for emergencies. CableOrganizer.com (News - Alert) is an eTailer of electrical, telecom/datacom/networking, home theater, cable and wire management products.
