ADTRAN's Network Virtualization Suite Gets a Triple Crown

ADTRAN (News - Alert) Inc., a provider of cloud, virtual and enterprise communications solutions, just proudly announced that its virtual wireless local area network (vWLAN) solution – Bluesocket (News - Alert) – just received a set of industry awards for its innovation in developing this product, helping customers achieve complete control of their wireless networks intertwined with their wireline LANs.

The solution received an Internet Telephony Excellence Award from TMC (News - Alert) who also honored ADTRAN with a Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.

The awards ensued with American Business Awards also giving ADTRAN a Gold Stevie in the category of Best New Telecommunications Hardware Product/Service.

All three awards are meant to recognize the ingenuity in ADTRAN's product development and results shown by its product in revolutionizing the telecommunications industry.

Mads Lillelund (News - Alert), ADTRAN's Bluesocket Business Group's general manager, said, "ADTRAN's Bluesocket vWLAN is the first and only solution on the market with hypervisor-based control and management, enabling enterprises and large campuses to truly realize unprecedented scalability and simplified operations across their facilities with building-to-building, wireless, and wired connectivity. The solution allows customers to continue utilizing their current network access points while also deploying ADTRAN's Bluesocket access points. As a result, customers are able to protect previous investments but also offer a migration path from older access points."

Until now, WLAN was all about small single devices. Too many users in the network get overwhelmed, forcing the enterprise to start shelling out more cash for equipment. ADTRAN's Bluesocket vWLAN recreates the wireless network with a hypervisor server that introduces scale.

A virtual wireless network wouldn't require more hardware to handle more users. It will just continue absorbing all the punches within the infrastructure and allow more devices to be managed within its own software.

ADTRAN's particular solution supports up to 1,500 access points granting connectivity to up to 48 thousand users. Such a network would be a juggernaut, but a slim one that runs on a minimal amount of hardware, consumes less power, and requires less initial investment.

To find out more about ADTRAN, visit the company at ITEXPO Miami 2013, taking place Jan. 29- Feb 1 in Miami, Florida. ITEXPO (News - Alert) is the world’s premier IP communications event. Visit ADTRAN in booth #300. For more information on ITEXPO, click here.
