WebNMS Unveils ATM Site Manager for Global Banking Industry

WebNMS, a division of Zoho (News - Alert) Corp, has launched an ATM Site Manager developed from Chennai for the global banking industry. The manager, which is built on the WebNMS Framework, will remotely monitor passive infrastructure such as air conditioners, camera, lighting systems, battery banks, door lock systems, etc., across thousands of ATM sites and will generate actionable information in real time.

A research report from Berg Insight stated that the global number of wireless M2M connections is forecasted to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27.2 percent to reach 359.3 million in 2016. M2M technologies promise a future where machines will now be connected through the Internet and will actively communicate with each other, transmitting vital data to a central location, according to a company press release. Each device must be equipped with a communication module or a sensor for data collection. The data generated from this communication allow enterprises to gain actionable insights, and the two-way communication between machines eliminates the need for human intervention in many routine service operations.

Sudhakar S Marthi, VP of sales and marketing for APAC at Zoho Corp, said, "Industry leaders predict that the number of connected devices will surpass 15 billion nodes by 2015, and reach over 50 billion by 2020, with the majority of the surge in connections expected to come from machine-to-machine applications. The increased availability of end-to-end solutions and Internet of things has set an environment for a more accessible M2M market for enterprises globally."

Recently, WebNMS launched high-performance Carrier Ethernet OAM solution. The new solution combines multi-vendor support with a state-of-the-art feature set to drive operating expense (OPEX (News - Alert)) reductions for service providers managing Carrier Ethernet equipment from a single vendor or from multiple vendors.

The new WebNMS Carrier Ethernet OAM solution creates a single console for multi-vendor environments and delivers shorter time-to-market for new services, service performance monitoring, and a more cost-effective, scalable and resilient infrastructure for data and voice services.

Eric Wegner, business development manager at WebNMS, said, "We've engineered the WebNMS Carrier Ethernet OAM solution to directly address the management challenge service providers face. Our solution provides a console from which service providers can manage all of their Carrier Ethernet equipment. As a result, our users gain a unified system of their networks to enable informed, proactive management and swift problem resolution that effectively runs their operations."
