Provider of advanced network communications and managed services, Windstream today launched Endpoint Security Protection by McAfee (News
- Alert), which is intended to eliminate the need for multiple security products. In other words, Endpoint Security Protection offers small businesses a single solution that detects and blocks viruses, spyware, spam, phishing attempts and hacker attacks.
This software is capable of filtering and quarantining threats carried by e-mail in the cloud before they even have a chance of reaching a company's network.
“Businesses today face security threats that continuously increase in frequency and sophistication, so it is essential to implement thorough desktop security solutions,” said Don Perkins, senior vice president of Business Marketing for Windstream (News - Alert), in a statement. “Endpoint Security Protection provides our small and medium-sized business customers with all-around protection, reducing the need for additional security management software, hardware, support and even dedicated IT staff.”
Indeed, Endpoint Security Protection aims to provide small business owners with a solution that is both comprehensive and easy to use, as well as affordable. A cloud-based management portal helps achieve these goals as it allows for faster and cheaper deployment. Meanwhile, automatic updating and upgrading allows security to remain up to date with little oversight.
Furthermore, despite its focus on ease of use, Endpoint Security Protection still provides customers with the ability to customize protection by way of selective e-mail and website blocking.
Earlier in the month, Windstream launched VirtuOz Inc's Wendy intelligent virtual agent that provides a new online customer agent channel for customers. Wendy is designed to provide an engaging customer experience while lowering operational costs by answering customer support questions quickly and effectively.
Toward the end of 2012, Windstream announced that it was expanding its next generation voice and data services into Hot Springs, Arkansas, providing local businesses in the area with a news choice for advanced communication services.
