Ixia Provides Network Assessment Solution for COMBINED ENDEAVOR

Ixia (News - Alert) (XXIA) BreakingPoint has landed a contract to provide a fully operational network assessment solution for COMBINED ENDEAVOR for the third consecutive year. This solution creates military network traffic conditions for the military communications and cyber defense exercise run by U.S. European Command (EUCOM) and NATO nations.

By creating realistic military network traffic conditions the Ixia BreakingPoint solution is establishing the ideal scenarios for COMBINED ENDEAVOR C4 systems multinational exercise. These solutions have enabled seamless communication between NATO and partner nations. It also can effectively make the global network more resilient and validate the quality of service.

“Our focus at COMBINED ENDEAVOR 2012 was to help the participating nations troubleshoot network issues in real time with passive network solutions using Ixia Anue NTO, and then validate the application performance, security and stability improvement using the Ixia BreakingPoint cyber range in cooperation with the participating nations’ network specialists," said Gregory Fresnais, director of EMEA L4/L7 Application and Security Business Development Team at Ixia, in a statement.

COMBINED ENDEAVOR 2012 linked about 1,500 communication and cyber defense experts to boost communication network interoperability and information exchange among various nations. The onsite Ixia experts were present to troubleshoot issues during this session. They provided multiple hands-on training sessions for participating nations and offered network security assessments to validate the resiliency and quality of service (QoS) for several deployed routers, firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).

Ixia solutions deliver insight through real-time monitoring, real-world testing, and rapid assessment. The company’s BreakingPoint cyber range solutions were used during Pacific Endeavor to enhance communication performance and cyber network defenses in Pacific Theater.
