MegaPath Announces Upgrades to Remote Access SSL

More people are working remotely, on their laptops, smartphones and tablets, and this is exposing more security risks. MegaPath (News - Alert) has announced upgrades to its Remote Access SSL in an attempt to thwart remote attacks that can compromise business networks.

“Whether employees are out of the office for routine business or because of inclement weather, they need a secure, reliable way to access corporate files and applications and keep business running smoothly," said Dan Foster, president of business markets at MegaPath. "While traditional options like IPsec VPN solutions meet certain business needs, they do not provide the secure anywhere-access that today's business environment demands. MegaPath's Remote Access SSL VPN resolves that issue by delivering an SSL-based access solution that is easy to deploy and manage."

As more workers log in from the road, they’re doing so over networks in places like coffee shops and hotels that favor giving access over secure connections, and possibly exposing sensitive data to prying eyes.

MegaPaths’s Remote Access SSL VPN gives users a safe, encrypted connection back to their main offices. They simply log in to a webpage with their username and password. They then have access to all the files available on the office LAN, accessible from PCs, smartphones and tablets, including e-mail and calendars, without having to worry about eavesdroppers sniffing passwords or other company secrets.

The Remote Access SSL VPN works in conjunction with its MPLS network.

MegaPath touts the ability for the solution to be integrated into existing networks easily without buying or managing a remote access system. The company also provides detailed monitoring and reporting of activity on what MegaPath calls a nationwide “secure to the core” network, allowing companies to ensure compliance with regulations such as PCI (News - Alert) DSS.

Megpath monitors and manages the network.
