WebNMS recently showcased its machine-to-machine (M2M) power grid monitoring solutions at Middle East Electricity 2013, which took place in Dubai.
WebNMS is a division of Zoho (News - Alert) Corporation Pvt. Ltd. and based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Prior to 2009, Zoho was known as AdventNet. The company has been involved in telecom and has developed an office suite similar to Microsoft (News
- Alert) Office.
The WebNMS Framework is deployed at over 25,000 sites and at every Tier 1 carrier in the world.
The company took part in this exhibition to demonstrate its variety of solutions to visitors from across the Middle East and Africa.
Prabhu Ramachandran, director at WebNMS, said, "The Middle East is a very important market for us and the Middle East Electricity 2013 exhibition is an ideal platform for us to showcase our power grid monitoring solutions and M2M technologies to a niche focused audience.”
The company uses M2M technologies to help in connecting machines through the Internet, and can actively communicate with each other, transmitting vital data to a central location. Each device must be equipped with a communication module or a sensor for data collection.
The data generated from this form of communication allows enterprises to gain ample information, and the two-way communication between machines eliminates the need for human intervention in many routine service operations.
The company recently unveiled ATM Site Manager, a machine-to-machine solution which makes remote monitoring of ATMs possible, eliminating the need for an attendant and allowing operators to cut costs significantly.
According to the company, an efficient system like ATM Site Manager allows for centralized control over multiple ATM sites. Air conditioning is remotely controlled, and there’s a camera for video monitoring. Any attempt to break into the machine will notify security staff or send an SMS alert right way.
Even opening and closing the door to the ATM facility is monitored.
