World Wide Technology Expands Enterprise Storage Portfolio with NetApp Flash Solutions

World Wide Technology (News - Alert), a systems integrator and provider of technology and supply chain solutions, reported that its enterprise storage portfolio offerings will now include the NetApp EF540 flash array.

The company supposedly expanded its portfolio offering with NetApp flash storage solutions with the intention of delivering maximum efficiency, reliability and performance for its customers’ most demanding latency-sensitive applications.

Bob Olwig, vice president of business strategy with WWT, commented, “WWT is leveraging cutting-edge technologies like enterprise flash storage to accelerate application performance and lower costs for enterprises harnessing cloud computing, virtualization and big data. As a longstanding NetApp Star Partner, we have always worked closely with NetApp to deliver solutions that are simpler, more manageable and faster to deploy than traditional enterprise storage products.”

“The recent NetApp enterprise flash announcement demonstrates their storage and data management leadership and provides us with a new set of products to help our customers meet their business goals and mission critical IT needs,” he said.

According to NetApp, the new NetApp EF540 flash array was specifically designed for transactional, database-driven applications where responsiveness is critical.

Based on Flash and completely different from other flash systems, the EF540 is capable of offering a consistent 300,000 I/Os per second (IOPS) and sub-second millisecond latency. Every enterprise supposedly has crucial applications or datasets where responsiveness drives time-to-market, customer satisfaction, productivity, revenue generation, or other core operations.

And for those applications, NetApp EF540 flash array delivers the needed extreme performance, IT efficiency and proven reliability.

Todd Palmer, vice president for Americas channel sales at NetApp added, “The new NetApp EF540 flash array and proven portfolio of storage and data management products deliver business results faster, stop over-provisioning and dramatically improve the ROI of IT investments. We are pleased to count World Wide Technology as an early supporter of our new flash products, as WWT’s sales, engineering and support teams consistently demonstrate a commitment to innovation as well as delivering and supporting the very latest technology solutions that can have a positive impact on the mission-critical IT environments of their customers.”
