A new Cyber Intelligence Center has been launched by Deloitte (News - Alert) to help companies monitor, analyze and respond to cyber threats 24 hours a day.
Officials with Deloitte said that the first of its kind dedicated facility manages each aspect of companies’ cyber security, using the company’s cross-industry knowledge to provide a tailored solution based on their business needs.
Company officials said that the center is being launched following significant investment and development working closely with clients for over 18 months.
It is part of a global investment in cyber security, which includes the Deloitte CyberSOC – a multi-service center based in Spain providing global support to Deloitte clients – and the purchase of U.S. firm Vigilant in May.
“Cyber risk is a major concern for businesses of all sizes, across all sectors, and CISOs are under increasing pressure from boards to protect against evolving cyber threats. But the monitoring, analysis and response capabilities needed to keep businesses safe are often expensive overheads which can be difficult to manage,” said Mike Maddison, head of security and resilience at Deloitte, in a statement.
“Since we can perform this service for several clients at once, we can also make it cost effective. Companies are under pressure to do more with less and the Cyber Intelligence Centre allows them to take advantage of Deloitte’s scale,” said Maddison.
He said that Deloitte is a global player in security and risk consulting, employing some of the best people in the business.
“Cyber security is constantly evolving and this investment shows that we are committed to staying at the forefront in meeting new challenges to support our clients,” said Maddison.
Recently, Deloitte appointed Giles Taylor and Andy Ng as directors in its security and resilience practice based in London.
With 12 years of experience working in IT security and risk management, Taylor will be focusing on the financial services sector, helping organizations mitigate the risk of fraud and cybercrime.
Ng will lead Deloitte's information protection practice, from strategy through to delivery. He brings over 15 years of experience as a technology evangelist and 10 years in the area of Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
